~ Journeying towards Self-Compassion
'Viewed through the lens of self-compassion, while our ADHD may not recede, we can begin to see that our humanness stands out beautifully, in relief.'
~ADHD Pilgrim
Welcome and thank you for visiting!
I'm Katy, a therapist and author blogging as ADHD Pilgrim.
Why a Pilgrimage?
A pilgrimage is a journey with a purpose. Following a diagnosis of ADHD in adulthood, finding my self-compassionate voice and mindful presence while 'Iiving along the way' has become more important than the destinations I imagined.
Why Self-Compassion?
'Self-compassion is a complementary approach that may let every other part of ADHD care move forward'.
~Psychology Today
Perhaps you will discover something useful in my books or among my posts.
Through a lens of self-compassion, they tread the paths of everyday 'outer world' journeys that can impact our inner world experiences with ADHD
"The only way to do is to be"
~Lao Tzu
When our ordinary journeys begin to include self-compassion, we can come home to our humanness and allow ourselves to 'be.' Becoming comfortable with oneself as a person with ADHD can feel like a life quest,
but maybe, by offering ourselves more kindness, it won't take a lifetime.
